EXPLORING BREGENZERWALD

NATURE — (AGRI) CULTURE — FOOD & DRINKS

A day trip to explore nature and landscape, get to know cool places for food and drink, and experience some local organic dairy farming in this beautiful and unique valley called Bregenzerwald.

For people living in the Rheintal, the Bregenzerwald is one of the closest recreational areas, providing great outdoors and a unique cultural experience. With this little day trip we want to show expats easily accessible alpine experiences, cool places of local hospitality and give them some insights about the traditional dairy agriculture and how it adapts in modern times.

The meeting point will be easily accessible Bregenz Bahnhof, from there we will take the bus to Bezau, in itself already a beautiful and scenic ride into the mountains. There we will drop in at the local coffee roastery Trevo and enjoy some fantastic coffee before we start walking to the cable car station. Taking the gondula up the mountain, we will immediately experience great alpine panorama, from the mountain station we take a one and a half hour easy walk with views of the alps and lake of Constance. After we have done our little exercise for the day, we will head back hungry and happy to Jöslar, one of the coolest places in the area, to grab some drinks and have some local sandwiches. Having quenched our thirst and enjoyed some well deserved food, we will stroll over to the Bärs family organic dairy farm, to pet some cows and get some insights into local organic farming before we drop tired and content into the seats of the bus that brings us back to Bregenz (or directly to Dornbirn)

The goal of this trip is not only to give people the experience of a beautiful day out, but to give them access and show them places they can revisit by themselves and with friends, so they can make this beautiful piece of land their home.

The best day for this trip would probably be a Sunday.
